Synetic Theater to Present THE MUSIC BOX & THE MIRACULOUS MAGICAL BALLOON this Summer at Lubber Run
Synetic Theater will perform two free shows at the Lubber Run Amphitheater featuring their family shows The Music Box and The Miraculous Magical Balloon. The two shows are part of Synetic Theater's Educational Outreach program that enriches children with the magic of theater through pantomime, choreography, dance, music, physical comedy, and audience participation.
The shows will take place July 11, 12 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. and each show runs approximately 45 minutes. All performances are free to the public and will be held at Lubber Run Park, located at North Columbus Street and 2nd Street North (two blocks north of Rt. 50), Arlington VA 22203.
The Music Box (Fri., July 11 and Sat., July 19 at 8 p.m.)
An average day becomes extraordinary when a surly janitor and an uptight businessman discover a magical mask, two cowboys in the Wild West tame a bull on the loose, two road workers try to catch a butterfly in an attempt to capture the heart of a girl, and the classic invisible wall. The Music Box is a wonderful collection of comedic vignettes set to music where students are introduced to the art of storytelling without words.
The Miraculous Magical Balloon (Sat., July 12 and Fri., July 18 at 8 p.m.)
A series of hilarious pantomime, The Miraculous Magical Balloon tells a wonderful story of a traveling actor and his magical trunk of tricks and toys through body and facial masks, pantomime illusions, and unique choreography, Students will discover the art of acting without words, opening the door to their imaginations.

Lubber Run Amphitheater events are suitable for the entire family, unless noted. No reservations or tickets are required. In the event of rain, the decision is made to cancel at the last possible moment. Due to the packed performance schedules of area bands, there are very limited scheduled rain-dates for events cancelled due to inclement weather. Call 703-228-1850 for day-of info. Bring a picnic, but alcohol is prohibited in all Arlington public parks! Smoking is discouraged. While these events are FREE and open to the public, we invite you to consider a generous donation to the Lubber Run "Wishing Well" as you enter.
