Swift Creek Mill Theatre Announces Featured Artist Sharon Denmark

By:

Swift Creek Mill Theatre is pleased to present Sharon Denmark as our Featured Artist during the production of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical running July 13th through August 13th 2017. All are welcome to enjoy Sharon's work in The Mill Room during dinner/lunch or during intermission of each performance.

Sharon Denmark is a self-taught artist whose work is defined by bold colors, bright highlights, and deep shadows, with an emphasis on the natural world. The majority of her work is realistic, from landscapes to what she calls "close-ups" of items from nature such as flowers, shells, or even tree bark. She works from her own photographs, but takes liberties with the images, eschewing the precision of photorealism for a more spontaneous style. The works in this show are all acrylic on canvas. She is a lifelong resident of Southside Virginia and lives with her husband and their chihuahua Beowulf. Find out more at www.460arts.com

Swift Creek Mill Theatre has been a Richmond and Tri-Cities institution for 50 years. We've come a long way since three local families took a 353-year-old gristmill and turned it into an intimate space for the production of so many splendid theatrical experiences. Five decades and more than 340 productions later, the Mill is still going strong in its historic location.

The theatre operates year round and accommodates 220 people. We currently produce six mainstage shows and five youth theatre productions each year, including world-premiere musicals and one-of-a-kind children's shows developed and written in-house. The playhouse also hosts a youth summer theatre camp.
