SWEENEY TODD Hits the Streets of Staunton 9/5, 9/11
Join ShenanArts for "Staunton Jams", a free event, this Saturday, Sept. 5, on Beverley Street! The street will be closed between Central Avenue and Augusta Street to showcase local bands ranging from acoustic folk performers to high-energy rock acts. Children's activities will be sponsored by the Staunton Recreation and Parks Department from 12 to 3 p.m., as well as a belly dancer and henna tattooing. From 4:00 - 8:00 pm ShenanArts will give you a sneak peek at the barber chair from our upcoming production of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." We will be selling and reserving tickets at this event. $16 Reserved, $12 General Admission and $8 Student. (Cash and checks only please)
The Staunton Downtown Development Association (SDDA) presents "Friday Nights in September". On Friday, September 11th, ShenanArts will showcase the talented cast of Sweeney Todd on the streets of Staunton at the Wharf (Byers Street Bistro area). Come see the cast perform a medley of songs from this musical thriller, in costume. There will be two 15- minute performances at 8:00 and 8:45. We will be taking ticket reservations at this time as well.
