Firehouse Theatre Presents SOMETHING INTANGIBLE 3/24-4/16
The Firehouse Theatre Project announces the final show of its 2010-11 season, Bruce Graham's Something Intangible, running March 24 - April 16, 2011.
The Firehouse production is directed by Bill Patton and stars Frank Creasy, Lauren Leinhass-Cook, Billy Christopher Maupin, Adrian Reider and Jay Welch.
SYNOPSIS:
Set in 1940s Hollywood, Bruce Graham's Something Intangible tells the story of two brothers - one a creative but difficult genius, the other business-minded and troubled. The award-winning script is loosely based on the story of Walt Disney as he fought to escape Mickey Mouse's success while creating Fantasia. Something Intangible is an engaging, comedic, and touching story of family dynamics and the creation of art - both in life and in business.
ACCOLADES & HISTORY
Something Intangible had a critically acclaimed world premiere, April 2009, at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia, Penn. The production received seven Barrymore Awards (including Outstanding New Play). In 2008, Something Intangible was also the recipient of a coveted Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award. Previously, Circle Theatre produced four other plays by Bruce Graham, including: Desperate Affection, Moon Over the Brewery, According to Goldman, and Dex and Julie Sittin' in a Tree.
Billy Christopher Maupin, who plays the role of Dale, was recently selected as one of STYLE Weekly's 2010 Top 40 Under 40, and is the director of the Firehouse's current hit production, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead by Bert V. Royal. Firehouse favorite Bill Patton has directed over a dozen plays since FTP's founding in 1993, including its very first production, Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet. Patton also performed in the Firehouse production of Sam Shepard's The Late Henry Moss, which received the RTCC award for Best Play of 2008.

Opening Night: Thursday, March 24, will include a free catered reception immediately following the performance.
Talk-Back Discussion with the cast and crew will be held Friday, March 25 immediately following the performance.
