Alden Theatre’s Summer Sunday Concerts in the Park Begin 7/3

The Alden Theatre's much-anticipated Summer Sunday Concerts in the Park will take audience members on a musical "time machine" as the this year's series highlights American music from the 1920s through the 1980s. The series of five, free concerts will begin on Sunday, July 3, at 5 p.m., in the gazebo at McLean Central Park. The park is located at 1468 Dolley Madison Blvd. Free parking is available at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

Old-Time Appalachian Roots Music
The music of Furnace Mountain is at times lively and raucous, with spirited fiddle melodies weaving in and around the powerful rhythms of the bass and bouzouki. It is at other times poignant and poetic, with sublime vocal harmonies beautifully interpreting some of the oldest songs ever written.Sunday, July 10, 5 p.m.

A Swingin' Andrews Sisters Tribute
Let the good times roll with this jumpin' big band with dazzling vocalists and swing dancers. Featuring a lovely, Andrews Sisters-style vocal trio, the group brings the magic of the 1940s alive with memorable wartime songs like "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" and "Rum and Coca Cola!"Sunday, July 17, 5 p.m.
The Natty Beaux
Upbeat Swing, Rockabilly and Jump Blues
The Natty Beaux unites some of the area's most talented and respected musicians, most of whom are Washington Area Music Association (WAMMIE) Award winners. The band members bring several diverse styles (Roots Rock, Zydeco, Rockabilly, Klezmer and Jazz) together brilliantly to perform music they have a common love for: classic Jump-Blues, Swing and Rockabilly.

The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience
Zoso creates the most mesmerizing and accurate portrayal of "the biggest band of the 1970s"-Led Zeppelin (Rolling Stone Magazine). The 80s Live! Like Totally Rad
This band of seasoned musicians recreates the sounds of the music of the 1980s; a time when Ronald Reagan was President, MTV first aired, CDs emerged and acid-washed jeans were "cool."
