A KODACHROME CHRISTMAS Plays the Alden in McLean This Weekend

By:

The upcoming holidays will be made brighter this year by the hilarious, one-person show, "A Kodachrome Christmas," at The Alden in McLean this weekend, Dec. 19 through 21.

Pat Hazell, a writer for NBC's "Seinfeld" and the creator of "The Wonder Bread Years," is the comedic force behind this irreverent and hysterical holiday celebration. Audience members will enter the colorful world of cable-access television hostess Earlene Hoople, played by actor, Jay Byrd. The self-proclaimed "Queen of Rural Media," Hoople is busy taping her Christmas special in front of a live audience. Letters to Mrs. Claus, an outrageous family slide show, fresh-baked snickerdoodles and a visit from the church handbell choir, all set the stage for a picture-perfect, laugh-out-loud evening of theatre. The audience is in for a fun ride because Earlene is dangerously close to "crafting" her way out of her mind and into their hearts this holiday season.

The show has a limited run Dec. 19 through 21. Show times are 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, and Saturday, Dec. 20, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21. Tickets are $30 for the general public, $20 for McLean tax district residents. The Alden is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave., inside the McLean Community Center.

Tickets are on sale now. For more information or to purchase tickets online, visit: www.aldentheatre.org or call 703-790-0123, TTY: 711.
