AUDITIONS FOR
Willy Wonka
Columbus Children’s Theatre will hold open auditions for Willy Wonka, with Lyrics and Music by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, adapted for the stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy Allen McDonald and based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Auditions will be held February 17thand 18th at 7pm at the Park Street Theatre 512 N Park Street 43215 and Call-back auditions will be held on Tuesday February 19th at the same time and location. Actors should come with a prepared song and sheet music (no tapes or CD’s), be dressed for dance, bring a recent photograph or snapshot, a resume, and his/her calendar to indicate conflicts during the rehearsal schedule. Readings will be from the script. Willy Wonkaperformances will begin Thursday April 11th and will run through Sunday April 21st. Rehearsals will be held Sunday through Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning Sunday February 24th. The production will be directed by William Goldsmith with Music Direction by Jeff Hamm and choreography by Dionysia Williams

Five lucky children will find one of the prized golden tickets and meet the most famous candy man in the world – Willy Wonka! Charlie Bucket thinks he doesn’t have much hope of winning the golden ticket of his dreams, but you shouldn’t underestimate what goes on in Wonka’s chocolate factory. Charlie doesn’t realize that once inside this fantastic factory, he will encounter an interesting assortment of candies, characters and catastrophes. Join Willy Wonka, Charlie Bucket, the spoiled-rotten Veruca Salt, gluttonous Augustus Gloop, gum-chewing Violet Beauregarde and television junkie Mike Teavee in this musical adaptation of Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir, with classic songs from the Oscar-nominated family film.
