Second City Theatricals in conjunction with The Kennedy Center is bringing back Love Factually, a celebration through The Second City lens - of the holiday classic movie Love Actually - full of improvisation, music and parody

This is an AEA audition - but all are welcome

LOCATION:

Woolly Mammoth Theatre

641 D Street, N.W.

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING CHARACTER TRACKS:

All actors will play multiple characters, sing and be required to improvise

All tracks are OPEN Ethnicity as we are seeking a diverse ensemble

Track 1

• Cassie: narrator of this play, classic rom-com lead look
• Heavy improv Track, must sing well, multiple characters

Track 2

• Jane Austen: ghost of Jane Austen; Norma: Elderly, sweet, looking for companionship
• Heavy improv Track, ability to sing, multiple characters

Track 3

• Carrie: just like Emma Thompson’s character in Love Actually.
• Some improv necessary, multiple characters

Track 4

• Keira: loosely based on Juliet (Keira Knightley) in Love Actually; Danielle: young, new senator, very loosely based on Prime Minister David (Hugh Grant) in Love Actually.
• No improv expected, multiple characters

Track 6

• Steve: Loosely based on Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) in Love Actually.
• Mid-level improv track, multiple characters

Track 7

• Aaron: Based on Alan Rickman’s character in Love Actually.
• Light improv track, multiple characters

COMMITMENT:

Rehearsals begin Monday, November 18th, 2019

Performances run December 9th - December 29th, 2019

AUDITION PREP

• script/sides will be emailed along with your appointment confirmation

• No need to memorize - please be familiar with the text

• There will be some improvisation in this audition

• Prepare - 16 bars of a song that shows off your singing ability which you will present acapella
