THE MYTHOLOGY PROJECT 2023 - Windsor Art Center Non Equity Auditions

The Mythology Project is seeking creative, collaborative actors to participate in the creation and performance of an original short play inspired by Celtic mythology at the Windsor Art Center (40 Mechanic Street, Windsor, CT).

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The Mythology Project is a short-play (60-90 minutes) inspired by Celtic mythology that will be devised (created collaboratively) with an ensemble of 5-7 actors, one director/writer, and a small, but mighty creative team. Actors in the ensemble will play several roles each (in the last project, 5 actors played 48 characters). A modest stipend of $175 will be provided to all actors in the cast.

AUDITIONS:

WHO: The show is ensemble driven, with actors playing multiple roles in the show. Therefore, the story will adapt to the actors who are cast and the unique talents and experiences they bring. All are welcome!

WHEN:

Sunday, July 9 from 3-4:30PM

Monday, July 10 from 7:00-8:30 PM

WHERE:

All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will take place at the
Windsor Art Center (40 Mechanic Street, Windsor, CT).

WHAT TO PREPARE:

IN-PERSON AUDITIONS:

No need to prepare anything in advance! Auditions will consist of short devising/improvisation activities and time to ask questions about the project. Because part of the audition will involve working in small groups, actors should plan to stay for the entire 90-minute time slot if possible. Those who need to arrive late or leave early are still welcome and encouraged to share any conflicts when filling out the sign-up form.

VIDEO SUBMISSION:

Please still fill out the
sign-up form and select the option for “video submission”.

Record a 1-3 minute comedic or dramatic monologue of your choosing and submit to Amanda,
director.amandap@gmail.com by 11:59 PM on Monday, July 10th.

REHEARSALS BEGIN: Thursday, July 20th.

STIPEND:

Actors in the cast will receive a stipend of $175.00.
