TURNING - The Centenary Stage

The Centenary Stage Company, a not-for-profit professional theatre company in residency on the campus of Centenary University at 715 Grand Ave. Hackettstown, NJ (approx. 50 miles west of NYC) will be holding additional open call auditions for the role of “Jesse Owens” in the world premiere production of Turning by Darrah Cloud.

Auditions will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Ripley – Grier Studios 520 8th Ave. New York, NY in studio 16B from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. AEA members and non-union performers will be seen. Interested performers should call the Centenary Stage Company box office at (908) 979 – 0900 to schedule an appointment. Performers without an appointment may be seen on a first come first serve basis as time permits. Actors may present a monologue appropriate to the material or read from sides. Sides are available on-line at
centenarystageco.org and will be provided on the day.

SEEKING: Jesse Owens. Male. African American. Early 20s, part of the men’s Olympic team; heavy Alabama accent.

The production of “Turning” is operating under an SPT 2 contract ($309 per week, actor; $368 per week, Stage Mngr.). Performances will be March 26 – April 5, 2020 with specific performance days & times Wednesdays and Sundays at 2:00 PM, Thursdays at 7:30 PM and Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM. Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
