Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) is hosting our annual TRU Audition Weekend, the final step in our month-long Audition Conference for Theater ‘26 (ACT26). Sign up for a series of three prep workshops and actor-related events leading up to your audition. Open to all non-union actors. Equity actors are also welcome, and offered a discounted price. We are a virtual event to accommodate our now-global community. It will be attended by as many as 50 NY-area (and beyond) Equity and non-Equity producing companies, directors, and producers, and other individuals, including casting directors and agents. Over 30 are already confirmed – see below. The TRU Voices Reading Series and TRUSpeak filmed plays will also be cast at this event. We’re happy to welcome back BackStage as a sponsor.

Seeking—Actors: males and females, all types, ages, and ethnicities. Non-union and union actors are all welcome.
Auditions will be held May 2-3, 11am to 6pm eastern time on Zoom. Musical auditions will be Sunday May 3, non-musical/dramatic on Saturday May 2, with limited non-musical slots also available on Sunday morning at 11am. You will be given two minutes to perform two monologues or a monologue and a song. Registration includes 3 prep workshops and 2 actor-specific seminars. For more info and an application packet, visit

The first 80 applicants are given priority acceptance and time slots; after that priority is given to TRU members and AEA members, and others will be notified of the time slots after the April 22 deadline. The registration fee is $110 ($90 for AEA) if you register before April 22. Fee includes three preparatory workshops: Meet the Coaches forum about acting and the audition process; Tech Smart guidance regarding the equipment and set-up that makes for a successful virtual audition; and Audition Technique and Protocols with casting director Helene Galek; plus an individual tech check. There is an additional discount of $20 with code BWW-20 before April 22, with late submissions ($120) possible subject to availability until April 27. The pay situations and Equity/non-Equity contracts will vary depending upon the productions that are casting.
