Looking for those ready to lend their voices and creativity to share the story of Mountaintop.
Bring yourself, your voice, and a willingness to play. The auditions will be a cold reading.
The story-- April 3 rd 1968, a stormy night in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. King retires to his motel
room. Amongst the dim lighting and sterile furnishings, he struggles to write what would be his
last uncompleted work, “Why America Is Going to Hell”, when he encounters his worst
nightmare. There he confronts himself with a great decision during what would soon come to
be known, as the last night of his life.
We are looking to cast:
Martin Luther King Jr.: Male, Noble Peace Prize winning civil rights movement leader at a
crossroads, full of life beginning a new chapter of his quest for equality and peace for humanity,charming, charismatic, witty, not the idea of Rev. King but the man beneath the idol
Camae: Female, motel maid, outspoken with honesty, beauty of an angel, vulgarity
of a sailor, an incredible mind, a challenge for Dr. King, the best player at the battle of wits he’sever encountered
Stage Manager needed
Actors will be reading excerpts from the script. Headshots and resumes are welcomed but not required.
