The Players Theatre Company is proud to hold auditions for "Steel Magnolias", the comedy-drama by Robert Harling, based on his experience with his sister's illness and death.
All roles are available to be cast.
TRUVY JONES, in her 40s, owns and runs the best local beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana.
ANNELLE DUPUY-DESOTO, in her mid-20s and new in town, she has a "checkered past" and is now Truvy's faithful assistant at the beauty shop.
CLAIREE BELCHER, mid-60s, is the widow of the former mayor and is a Louisiana Grand Dame.
SHELBY EATENTON-LATCHERIE, 25, is the prettiest girl in town, daughter of M'Lynn Eatenton and bride-to-be.
M'LYNN EATENTON, 50s, is a socially prominent career woman and Shelby's mother.
OUISER ("Weezer") BOUDREAUX, mid-60s, is a wealthy curmudgeon, who is acerbic but lovable.
AUTHOR'S NOTE-The women in this play are witty, intelligent, and, above all, real. They in no way, shape, or form, are meant to be portrayed as cartoons or caricatures.

Rehearsal dates are December-January, with dates off for the holidays.
