SEEKING

Actors for The Legend of Pufferfish Pat and KidStory Theatre Festival

PREPARATION

Please prepare the The Legend of Pufferfish Pat sides (email to you after you sign up for an audition) and a short children’s song or nursery rhyme.

1. The Legend of Pufferfish Pat

Written and Directed by: Ali Oliver-Krueger

First Rehearsal: Mid - February 2025

Performances: March 15, 2025 - May 2025 (average of 1 - 2 performances per week)

SYNOPSIS:

When PufferFish Pat gets mad, he gets really mad! And when the annual Great Gravy Gulch Great Gravy Cook-Off and Fashion Festival gets threatened, Pat has to learn how to control his anger to help save the day.

SEEKING:

Actor 2: (Female, open ethnicity):

Anatoly Zaba (aka “Tony” and “Anna”) - performer with The Zaba Brothers Travelling Circus and Wild West Show. Polish. Explorer, curious and eager to learn about Pat. Girl in disguise as a man as she navigates the Wild West.

Sweet Sally Sue Sarsparilla - transplanted Southern belle, owner and proprietress of Sweet Sally Sue’s Lemonade Parlor. Strong, determined and sweet woman who has big dreams.

John Jacob McGillicuddy, aka “One-Eyed Jack” - cowboy and ne’er do well. Slimy, mean and out for revenge against Pat.

Actor 3: (Female or Non-Binary, open ethnicity)

Cookie - chuck wagon cook and Pat’s friend. Easy going and welcoming.

Ma Ferguson - mayor of Gravy Gulch. Refined, organized and has a lot of grit. A leader who perseveres through the hardships she’s had but understanding.

2. KidStory Theatre Festival

Rehearsals Dates: 6 rehearsals starting April 21, 2025; exact rehearsal dates/times are based on actor and space availability.

Performances: Weekend of May 17 - 18, 2025; plus 1 - 2 possible school day performances.

SYNOPSIS:

All year long, InterAct Story Theatre artists create stories with kids, and invite them to share their epic stories with us. We’re choosing some of our favorite stories written by kids over the years, as we present a series of short plays and stories performed by our InterActors.

SEEKING:

Four Actors (open ethnicity and gender) - Actors who are flexible, have good timing and are able to adapt quickly.
