Auditions for Seven Spools of Thread

The story of seven brothers who must learn to work together, while also demonstrating the seven principles of Kwanzaa. 

CAST OF CHARACTERS
Father - African Male, 37, A Leader, Sickly, Widower, A Strong Black
Man at heart whole only wants the best for his sons. - OFFER OUT

UMO (blue thread) - African Male, 17, The eldest brother, a
workaholic, the one everyone looks to in the village.

Kuji (red thread) - African Male, 16, The second eldest brother,
Intelligent, Smart-Mouthed, Easily Irritable, A Fighter.

Ujim (yellow thread) - African Male, 15, The third eldest brother, the
most skilled brother, farming and musically. - OFFER OUT

Ujam (orange thread) - African Male, 14, The middle son, Supportive,
Responsible, Takes care of everyone yet minds his own business. - OFFER OUT

Ni (green thread) - African Male, 13, The fifth son, Handsome, Arrogant, Strong, Stand-offish

Kuum (black thread) - African Male, 12, The sixth son, Optimistic, Present, Mindful, Go with the flow kind of person.

Iman (white thread) - African Male, 11, The youngest son, Comedic, Lazy, Malcontent, Complains about everything he has to do.

Village Chief - African Male, 40's, Age- 40-45, brother of the father and leader of the village, very authoritative, demands respect.

2 contrasting monologues 

16 bars of a song

Auditions will be held at

12PM - 2PM

Pay is $500/week
Rehearsals start o/a October 26 or November 16 

Show runs Dec 26 - Jan 3 with possible extension.
