First Rehearsal: August 26th, 2025

Rehearsals will run: Weekday evenings, Weekends

First Preview: September 17th, 2025 @ 7:30pm

Second Preview: September 18th, 2025 @7:30pm

Opening: September 19th, 2025 @ 7:30pm

Performances will run every:

• Friday @ 7:30pm
• Saturday @ 2:30pm and 7:30pm
• Sunday @ 2:30pm

Closing: October 12th, 2025 @ 2:30pm

TBD Extension Dates: October 16th-19th, 2025

Compensation: $300-$400/week

Synopsis: From the songbook of Johnny Cash comes this unique musical about love and faith, struggle and success, rowdiness and redemption, and the healing power of home and family. More than two dozen classic hits—including “I Walk The Line,” “A Boy Named Sue,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and the title tune—performed by a multi-talented cast, paint a musical portrait of The Man in Black that promises to be a foot-stompin’, crowd-pleasin’ salute to a unique musical legend! Though he is never impersonated, Johnny Cash’s remarkable life story is told through his music, climaxing in a concert that will both move and exhilarate!

Seeking: 2 roles have been cast already; all roles are non-Equity

• 2 female-identifying actor/musicians (Any age, race, body type)
• 1-2 male-identifying actor/musicians (Any age, race, body type)
• For all roles we are specifically seeking performers that can play piano/keyboard, bass, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, or banjo.

We encourage actors of all backgrounds, especially those who belong to marginalized communities, to submit. Multicultural casting is the standard expectation at GET.

Audition Requirements: For initial auditions, please submit a 1-2 minute video accompanying yourself on a Johnny Cash song. If you can play any other instruments, please include a video of you performing 16-32 measures of a song in the style of Johnny Cash or June Carter. Please use the attached link at the bottom of this listing to submit.

Please note all first round auditions will be video submission only.

Callbacks will be in-person at the Georgia Ensemble Theatre at Act 3 Playhouse in Sandy Springs, GA.

Submissions will be due no later than July 25th, 2025 at midnight

Callbacks will be held on August 1st, 2025 (Times TBD)
