Playhouse on Park to Hold Auditions for Ovid's "Metamorphoses

WEST HARTFORD, CT - Playhouse on Park is seeking non-equity actors, ages 18-40, for their stage production of Ovid's "Metamorphoses based on the classic, narrative poem, telling the transformation myths of the ancient Greeks and Romans (all centered on a large pool as the major focal point of the set). Directed by Playhouse on Park Co-founder and Artistic Director, Sean Harris, rehearsals for the show begin May 21st and performances will run June 13th - July 1st. Initial local auditions will be held Monday, February 27th and Tuesday February 28th, at the theater, 244 Park Road, West Hartford.

All positions are paid; looking to cast actors to play multiple roles. All performers must have exceptional handling of classical text, strong movement experience, be comfortable with highly physical and athletic movement, some physical exposure, and also working in and around water. Dance background, singing, and playing an instrument such as guitar, flute, or percussion is a plus. Local housing is also a plus.

You will then be given 2 sides from the script to perform and please also prepare one of three options: a brief movement piece, sing a brief tune a capella or play a musical instrument.
