Notice: Firebringer the Musical
Playcrafters of Skippack is pleased to announce the audition dates for it's 2026 production of Firebringer. The show is a musical comedy about cavepeople and the discovery of fire. Originally produced by StarKid Productions, this show follows a tribe of kooky characters; through resourcefulness, luck, and a tiny bit of stupidity, they invent fire and put it through a myriad of uses. This female-led cast shows a lot of heart and soul as you follow their journey into a new age of humankind.
Audition Dates and Times: Auditions will be held at Playcrafters of Skippack, on February 20th from 7-9pm and February 21st and 22nd from 11am-5:30pm. *All roles are non-union, non-paying*
Location of Audition: Playcrafters of Skippack, 2011 Store Road, Skippack, PA 19474. Free parking is located around the theatre.
Callbacks: Tentative callbacks will be held at the theatre on February 25th 7-10pm. Invitations will be sent via email by the director.
Audition Requirements:
Only actors at or over the age of 18 at the time of auditions will be considered. Auditions will consist of 2-hour time blocks. Auditioners will be split into two groups. One group will work on vocal auditions and cold readings from the script for the first hour. The other group will work on the dance audition with our choreographer. The groups will then switch for the second hour.
Auditioners should prepare 16-32 bars of a song not from the show that fits the tone of the musical. They can either bring their own tracking or sing acapella. Sheet music is appreciated but not required. Please wear comfortable clothes to move in for the choreography part of the audition.

Performance Dates: The shows are being held on June 19, 20, 26, 27, July 10, 11 @ 8pm and June 21, 28 and July 12 at 2pm. Note: An additional performance may be added, date to be determined.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be held on-site at Playcrafters of Skippack, 2011 Store Road, Skippack, PA 19474, Rehearsal schedule to be determined after auditions.
Characters (all ages are approximate):
Zazzalil (Female presenting; 20s-Mid30s; Mezzo G3-D5):
A gatherer for the tribe. Creative and bright but incredibly lazy. They are a great inventor, but they do not always see the bigger picture when achieving their goals.
Jemilla (Female presenting; Mid20s-Mid30s; Mezzo F3-D5):
The leader of the tribe. Shows aspects of confidence in their role. Protective of the tribe which leads to being stuck in the past ways.
Molag (Female presenting; Mid40s-Late60s; Non-Singing):
Former leader of the tribe. Has retired and passed down the mantle to Jemilla. Serves as the show narrator while going out and walking the Earth in search of its end.
Chorn (Female presenting; Mid20s-Mid30s; Alto G3-E5):
No one really knows where Chorn came from or what Chorn is. No one really questions it that much either. A simple-minded being with a limited vocabulary.
Keeri (Female presenting; 20s-Mid30s; Mezzo A3-C5):
The tribe's head gatherer. Not the brighest of the bunch but shows heart in everything that they do. A kind and empathetic soul and Zazzalil's best friend.
Emberly (Female presenting; 20s-Mid30s; Mezzo G3-D5):
The taste-tester of the tribe. Analytical and curious, they will try eating anything once. They are willing to learn and experience new things. Bookish and sweet.
Grunt (Male presenting; 20s-Mid30s; High Baritone C3-F4):
An outsider to the tribe. Shy and cautious but willing to be open. Easily judgmental of themselves and their work. Wants to feel included somewhere.
Schwoopsie (Female presenting; Mid20s-Late30s; Mezzo A3-D5):
A comedian for the tribe. Inventor of comedy. They try their best to keep the mood of the tribe up during challenging times. Will also portray a Neanderthal.
Ducker (Male presenting; Mid30s-Late50s; Baritone A2-F4):
The religious leader of the tribe. Self-serving and opportunistic. Willing to use their position to get what they want. Will also portray a Neanderthal.
Tiblyn (Female presenting; 20s-Mid30s; Mezzo B3-D5):
The hardest worker of the tribe. They are very proud of their job. Loyal and dedicated to the task at hand. Hopeless romantic, innocent and determined. Will also portray a Neanderthal.
S-B (Male presenting; 20s-Mid30s; High Baritone A2-F4):
The main dude of the tribe. Very dimwitted and easy to anger. Feigns bravery but is all bark with no bite. Will also portray a Neanderthal.
Clark (Male presenting; 20s-Late30s; Baritone minor singing):
The leader of the Neanderthals. Very handsome and mysterious. Always quick to arrive when someone is in need. Will also portray Snarl, a very large and very dangerous sabertooth tiger.
