ELLA THE UNGOVERNABLE - New York City
We are presently auditioning for all roles (14) for an upcoming production of Ella The Ungovernable, a play based on the true story of 15 year-old Ella Fitzgerald's incarceration and eventual escape from The NY Training School For Girls in Hudson, NY, in 1933. The play revolves around four black teenaged girls incarcerated at the institution and the various adults around them. These include a female prison superintendent, a male psychologist, a male chorus director, and adults to play Ella's mother, stepfather and aunt.
