Hershey Area Playhouse Announces auditions for a very special Christmas Carol

Hershey Area Playhouse is thrilled to be producing local playwright Barry Kornhauser’s effervescent take on the classic Dickens tale – A Christmas Carol, directed by Cory Wilkerson and produced byTracey Ford. Dubbed “a fresh vibrant, funning and moving evening of theatre” by critics, his story combines live actors with puppets and special effects to charm and delight.

Roles are available for 8 men, 9 women and 14 children. Actors should come prepared to perform a monologue of their choosing and at least 32 measures of a song that will showcase their range and vocal ability. Child actors may perform a monologue or a cold reading from the script.

Auditions for adult actors will be held on Friday, September 13 and Friday, September 20 at 7 PM and Saturday, September 14 from 12 PM until 5 PM. Auditions for children will be Saturday, September 14 from 12 PM until 5 PM only. Call backs will be Sunday, September 22 from 1 until 4 PM. Rehearsals will begin October 21, with performances December 5 – 15, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
