Indian Ink Theatre Company Opens GURU OF CHAI at Q Theatre Tonight, 7/10
The Indian Ink Theatre Company has two shows coming up at Q Theatre in Auckland, first GURU OF CHAI tonight, July 10 through July 21, followed by KRISHNAN'S DAIRY July 24 to August 4. Both are written by Justin Lewis and Jacob Rajan with Rajan acting in the shows too.
GURU OF CHAI
The contradictions of modern India with its iPhones and ancient Gods collide in this outrageously funny and heartbreakingly beautiful romantic thriller.
A poor chaiwallah (tea seller) has his life changed forever when a young girl is abandoned at a busy railway station and brings the place to a standstill with the beauty of her singing.
GURU OF CHAI plays tonight, July 10 through to July 21, 2012, with tickets from $24.
KRISHNAN'S DAIRY
For over a decade this play has enthralled audiences here and across the world with its timeless, hilarious and profoundly touching love story.
Gobi and Zina Krishan keep their dreams stacked on the shelves of their struggling corner shop. An ordinary day will reveal an extraordinary bond and transform their dairy into a monument to love to rival the Taj Mahal.
KRISHNAN'S DAIRY plays July 24 to August 4, 2012, with tickets from $24.
