The historic Saenger Theatre, slated to re-open in fall 2013, announced today it is now offering convenient, private parking to patrons. Located half a block from the Theatre across Canal Street, the partner garage, University Place Garage, will now provide patrons the option of securing guaranteed parking accommodations prior to Saenger events.

Today, September 6 starts the second weekend of LES MISERABLES as performed by Fuhrmann Performing Arts in Covington, Louisiana. If you missed their performances last weekend at the Columbia Theatre in Hammond, I suggest you hurry along and get your tickets for the shows in Covington now! This isn't something you'll want to miss. Aside from being the very last regional production of LES MISERABLES allowed in the United States due to the show heading back to Broadway in the near future (huzzah!), this is a pretty impressive production.

The Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at Loyola University New Orleans kicks off the 2013-14 season with Lee Blessing's "Patient A," a dramatic exploration of the first-known case of clinical transmission of HIV. The play will run in the Lower Depths Theater in the Communications/Music Complex Sept. 27, 28 and Oct. 3, 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.
Le Petit Theater Announces New Arts Education Program BECAUSE WE CAN

Le Petit Theater debuted its new theatre arts education program with excerpts of LOMBARDI for close to 200 public school students this morning as part of "Because We Can," a new initiative to educate New Orleans youths about theatre.Students from St. Paul Lutheran School, McDonough 32 Literacy Charter School, The Good Shepherd School and Encore Academy were treated to breakfast treats from Tableau Restaurant, music by Kermit Ruffins, scenes from LOMBARDI and a Q&A with former New Orleans Saints player Mike McKenzie, founder of the 34 Ways Foundation.

Le Petit Theater will debut its new theatre arts education program with a special preview performance of LOMBARDI for public school students as part of 'Because We Can,' a new initiative to educate New Orleans youths about theatre. Students will watch an excerpt of LOMBARDI followed by Q&A with former N.O. Saint Mike McKenzie and musician Kermit Ruffins. Video and photography will be allowed.

A story about familial love, romantic desire, and artistic obsession, this extraordinary play examines what it means to lose the things that define us, and what we end up gaining in their stead.

Five of New York theater's leading ladies (one of whom is famously a man in disguise) will perform in New Orleans in 2013/14 as the popular series leaps again to NOCCA's Lupin Hall from its original summer home at The Art House in Provincetown, MA. The series is hosted again by Sirius/XM radio star Seth Rudetsky at piano. Tickets are now available for eleven performances Sept. 6 - 21. Ticket prices range from $30-$50 with a special discount performance on Wednesday, September 18 at 8pm.
