Set in early 1900s Europe at the onset of World War I in a town called Devon, England, WAR HORSE takes us on a journey with a boy named Albert and his friendship with his horse Joey. A play about a boy and a horse sounds simple enough, right? But how do you control a horse on stage?

Slidell Little Theatre just ended its third weekend of performances for the comedy-musical-Shakespearean hybrid KISS ME KATE. The show is a play within a play, and centers around a group of actors who are attempting to put on Shakespeare's classic comedy THE TAMING OF THE SHREW (musical style), all while dealing with their complicated love lives and a couple of gangsters sent to the theater with an order to collect or kill.

Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre (Le Petit) has selected New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) as its charitable partner for the upcoming production of Death of a Salesman opening May 9. The theatre has set a goal of raising $3,000 for the organization by collecting donations at each show. On May 20th, employees of Le Petit, along with the show's cast and crew, will spend a day volunteering for the organization onsite.

In response to overwhelming public demand and positive critical reception, Southern Rep is extending the run for its current production, Tennessee Williams' THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA at The Art Klub on 527 Elysian Fields Avenue, through April 13, 2014. Originally slated to close April 6, the extension will add an additional four performances to THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA's schedule. The show times for the new performances are Thursday - Saturday at 7:30 pm, and a Sunday Matinee at 2:00 pm.
