Three hundred campers from the New Orleans Recreation Department Commission will learn about the business side of theatre as part of a program produced by Le Petit du Vieux Carre's Because We Can educational program and Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans on Tuesday, July 22 beginning at 10 AM. The program will last approximately an hour. The event will begin with performers talking to the kids, answering questions and then performing.

"Theatre is a business and we are delighted to welcome campers from NORDC and to work with Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans to teach area youths about the important details that take place behind the scenes in order to produce a quality show. It's not just about acting - theatre production involves contracts, ticket sales, carpentry, marketing and more, " said Le Petit Theatre Artistic Director Cassie Steck Worley. "We'll cap off the lesson with live performances from some of New Orleans' most talented actors and singers - the cast of the popular locally produced musical revue, Under the Boardwalk."

The Big Easy Buddies and The Big Easy Babes will perform selections from the show, including hits from the Four Seasons, Beach Boys, Doo-wop, and Motown.
