Southern Rep Celebrates the THIRD ANNIVERSARY of DEBAUCHERY! THE SOAP OPERA Tonight

New Orleans-Southern Rep will present the third anniversary show of DEBAUCHERY! THE SOAP OPERA, New Orleans' only live, ongoing soap opera, at Mid-City Theatre tonight, July 17, 2013 at 7:30 pm.

DEBAUCHERY! (written by Pat Bourgeois) brings the campy melodrama of a televised soap opera to the stage for an interactive audience experience. Initially presented in 2010 as a limited run, DEBAUCHERY! quickly (and unexpectedly) developed a regular, rabid fan base. It rapidly became a New Orleans-style cult hit for audiences seeking a fun and flamboyant evening of theatre. Now entering its fourth year, DEBAUCHERY! is stronger and more interactive than ever, encouraging its audience to shout catch-phrases and innuendo back to the characters on stage.

To celebrate DEBAUCHERY!'s astonishing longevity, Southern Rep is presenting a third anniversary show more over-the-top than ever. This month, Chanel throws a pool party, but after a maze of guest stars arrive, she finds herself drowning in drama!

The DEBAUCHERY! cast includes Kyle Daigrepont (in drag as the family matriarch Lois Philips),Michael P. Sullivan (as the family patriarch and "private dick" Marlow Philips), Mandy Zirkenbach (playing the sweet Chanel Grant), Sean Glazebrook (as "a man with an excessive testosterone problem" Larsen Grant), Joe Seibert (as Chanel and Larsen's baby), Jessica Podewell (playing "a hell cat causing chaos" Cartier Divine), Matthew Mickal (as Buff Divine, "the saint who puts up with Cartier"), and Robin Baudier (as Dior, the daughter of Cartier and Buff).

The third anniversary show's guest stars include Desire Bacala ("Burnsie"), Kerry Cahill("Taffeta"), Jason George ("Crispy Ashpole"), Tari Hohn ("Lady Kiki Cambridge"), Jason Kirkpatrick ("Larry Lane"), Jen Linsley ("Monet Sterling"), Fred Nuccio ("Graham Grant"),Brian Peterson ("Magenta Grant"), Chris Ramage ("Stallion"), Todd Shaffer ("Scoot McCretin"), and Nick Slie ("Gatsby").

DEBAUCHERY! is a production of Southern Rep, and hosted by Mid-City Theatre.
