Shadowbox Theatre presents FROM CHOCOLATE CITY TO AN ENCHILADA VILLAGE, a performance event with Jose Torres-Tama, August 28th at 8:30pm.  Tickets are $10 for general population and $7 for students.  For more information, visit: http://theshadowboxtheatre.com.

Award-winning performance/visual artist José Torres-Tama performs excerpts of his two post-Katrina one-man shows, "ALIENS, IMMIGRANTS & OTHER EVILDOERS" & "The Cone of Uncertainty." This is a performance evening to raise awareness for the contributions of Latino immigrants to the reconstruction of the Big Easy, and to raise funds for Torres-Tama's forthcoming book that explores the untold stories of immigrants and the rebuilding. PUENTES New Orleans will support the post-performance reception with Latino treats.

The Shadowbox is an intimate live performance theatre, housed in the old Marquer Drugstore building and located in the heart of New Orleans’ growing fringe theatre and art scene. The Shadowbox features floor to ceiling red velvet curtains, vintage wood seats, and a completely repositionable setup – the stage and seats can rearrange to fit the specific needs of every show. In addition to housing some of the best local talent, the Shadowbox provides a home for more out of town shows than any other theatre space in New Orleans, regularly featuring acts from Chicago, New York and beyond. Come on in, grab a refreshment in our Princess Victoria Lounge, and step into what has been called time and again ‘a gem of a theatre!’
