Under the direction of multi-talented performer, director and theatrical creator, Ricky Graham, and starring Rivertown Theaters' co-artistic director, Gary Rucker, Young Frankenstein, will debut in New Orleans today, May 9 - 24, closing out the 2014 Spring line-up on the theater's Main Stage. The multi-award winning musical, with the Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan and Music & Lyrics by Brooks, is an inspired re-imagining of Mel Brooks' classic comedy movie masterpiece.

The story follows young Dr. Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather's masterwork and bring a corpse to life. Together with his oddly shaped and endearing helper Igor (that's Eyegor), his curvaceous lab assistant Inga, and in spite of his self-involved madcap fiancée Elizabeth, Frankenstein succeeds in creating a monster - but not without scary and quite often hilarious complications.

With such memorable tunes as "The Transylvania Mania," "He Vas My Boyfriend" and "Puttin' On The Ritz, " YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is scientifically-proven, monstrously good entertainment...and the only place the audience will witness a singing and dancing laboratory experiment in the largest tuxedo ever made.

The cast of Young Frankenstein includes Gary Rucker (Dr. Frankenstein), Mason Wood (Igor), Jeff Springmann (Monster), Tracey Collins (Frau), Butch Caire (Old Hermit/Kemp), Hannah Rachal (Elizabeth), and Elise Harvey (Inga). Nicky Roth, Jesse Forcha, Anna Toujas, Adler Hyatt, Julieanne Natal, Ian Morel, Katie Cotaya, Erin Cessna, Catherine Caldas, Jill Marie Kenyon, Stephen Kernion, Rusty Fox, Lisette Bayle, Lauren Haefle, Jimmy DeMontluzin, and Jeff Moterel make up the ensemble.

The production team includes Ricky Graham (director), Karen Hebert (choreographer), Alan Payne (musical director), Linda Fried (costume designer), Christy Combel (stage manager), Amanda Cavalier (assistant stage manager), Jessica Piehl (crew), Scott Sauber (light design), David Raphael (set design), Brooklyn Shaffer (wigs), Mike Harkins (sound design), and Rosemary Llyod (makeup).

Young Frankenstein will run Fridays May 9, 16 and 23 at 8:00 pm; Saturdays May 10, 17 and 24 at 8:00 pm, Sundays May 11 and 18 at 2:00 pm, and Thursday May 22 at 8:00 pm. This production is for a mature audience. (16+)
