Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré's 2014-15 Season Includes 'VANYA & SONIA,' 'STARCATCHER' & More

Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré 's 2014-15 season is a vibrant mix of drama, comedy and musicals. The season opens today, September 5, 2014 and runs through June 6, 2015, and will once again employ all local actors and crews. Season subscriptions are now on sale for $250 and entitle subscribers to pick their seats and complimentary ticket exchange, plus a "Behind the Scenes" discussion before each Thursday show.

"Le Petit presents an eclectic season with something for everyone," said Le Petit Theatre Executive Director Cassie Steck Worley. "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is a hilarious new comedy straight from Broadway. Peter and the Starcatcher is a prequel to Peter Pan and is a must-see for kids and adults. We are proud to present the rock opera classic, Jesus Christ Superstar and the Pulitzer Prize winning play, Dinner with Friends, and we end our season with a Stephen Sondheim musical, Merrily We Roll Along," Worley said.

2014-15 season subscriptions are on sale to the public via the theatre's website (www.lepetittheatre.com) and the box office. The box office is open during the hours of 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays (Closed Sundays and Mondays). In this regional premiere of Christopher Durang's uproarious Tony Award winning comedy, middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home where they bicker and complain about their lives. Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike, and the fun begins.

PETER & THE STARCATCHER

Broadway's first rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion that goes straight to the heart. Jesus' meteor-like rise provides a parallel to contemporary celebrity worship.

DINNER WITH FRIENDS

Donald Margulies' Pulitzer Prize-winning play tells the story of a couple nearing middle-age whose lives are turned upside down when they learn their best friends are divorcing. They learn the decisions made when they were younger may not be as "lifelong" as they once thought.

This classic Stephen Sondheim and George Furth musical traces the lives of wealthy, jaded composer Franklin Shepard and his two estranged friends through each milestone of their lives. Their journey crackles with wit and humor and includes one of the greatest musical scores in American theatre.
