An aging, popular, and pampered actor has to placate both his long-suffering secretary and his estranged wife, cope with a crazed young playwright, deal with women who want to seduce him, overcome his fear of middle-age and, by implication, his impending mid-life crisis all while he prepares to leave for a touring commitment overseas in this comedy The New York Times calls, "sharp, withering, and funny."
