The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey launches their 57th season in swashbuckling style at their 2019 Annual Gala, taking place on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Themed A Cavalier Ball , the night promises to be a star-studded event, replete with cocktails, gourmet fare, an unusual array of silent auction items, and a cabaret performance all taking place at the company's 'Theatre Factory' in Florham Park. If you have not attended a Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey gala, you have no idea what you are missing, said Board Chairman T. Randolph Harris. Other galas give you food and drink, and maybe even entertainment. The Shakespeare Gala gives you all those things, but wrapped in an experience that truly makes you a member of the theatre community.

Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte said, Our Gala is a pretty exhilarating affair in part because it's held in our amazing Theatre Factory, and not in some generic hotel ballroom. The surroundings are magical, the place teeming with actors and artists of all kinds, our Silent Auction is chock full of really unusual offerings and experiences, and the centerpiece of the evening our Cabaret performance usually brings the house down! And last but not least, the food and drink grazing style are marvelous!

The Gala is the Theatre's largest fundraising event of the year, and welcomes guests to its behind-the-scenes theatre factory for an extraordinary evening of celebration. Located in Florham Park, the 50,000 square foot building is home to the Theatre's administrative, educational, artistic, and technical operations. The facility includes areas for the construction and storage of set, costumes, props, stage weapons, and archives, a spacious rehearsal hall and Green Room, as well as the Boulevard of Dreams , a hallway featuring murals and artwork by the Theatre's scenic artists. The Theatre will transform its Theatre Factory scene shop into a grand ballroom for the evening.

Commencing at 6:30 p.m., guests and donors will be able to indulge in cocktails, gourmet grazing, and have the opportunity to bid on an eclectic array of silent auction items. In previous years, the silent auction has featured offerings from handcrafted calligraphed poems to Broadway tickets to custom-built Adirondack chairs created by Shakespeare Theatre artisans. At 8:45 p.m., the Silent Auction will close as guests head to the Grand Ballroom and enjoy the themed cabaret along with more libations and dessert. The cabaret features a variety of Shakespeare Theatre Company members, Broadway and television veterans, and surprises that will keep guests entertained and thrilled

Gala tickets range from $300 to $1,000 per person and a limited number of $150 tickets are available. A portion of each ticket is tax-deductible to the fullest extent provided by the law.
