The Eagle Theatre Celebrates 2nd Anniversary Of Restoration & Reopening

By:

The Eagle Theatre, a historic 97 year-old theatre located in downtown Hammonton, will celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of its restoration and reopening during the weekend of June 3rd, 4th and 5th.

The weekend-long 2nd Anniversary Celebration of the Eagle Theatre kicks off with an Anniversary Party on Friday, June 3rd at 7PM. As part of the evening's festivities, The Town of Hammonton Artist of The Year Award will be presented by the Art and Culture Committee to Paul Morris of Dancexplosion.

"Paul Morris has had a huge influence on our community. Not only is he an artist and a teacher who infuses the lives of his students with a love of dance and theatre, he is also one of the true pioneers of our Downtown Art District and teaches his students how important it is to give back to the community. His talent, positive presence and dedication to our town is why he's such a star," said Tracy Petrongolo, Chairperson of the Town of Hammonton Art and Culture Committee.

The party will include live music and performances, food and wine. Tickets are $30, and can be purchased online at TheEagleTheatre.com.

The celebration continues on Saturday, June 4th at 2pm and 7pm with special performances by Paul Morris Dancexplosion's talented artists. Reflections: A Decade of Dance and Music, will feature a look back at the last ten years of Dancexplosion's greatest moments. Dance, music and vocals will be paired with spectacular lighting and special effects to produce an exciting event for all ages. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for senior citizens and students.

On Sunday, June 5th, the Eagle Theatre's Anniversary Weekend will culminate with 2pm and 7pm performances of The Hammonton Community Chorus Concert. The Community Chorus is made up of more than 50 members of the Hammonton area ranging in age from 18 to over 80. This group was formed last year, under the direction of Marissa Carrafiello. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for senior citizens and students.

All proceeds from the entire Anniversary Weekend benefit the Eagle Theatre and its programs, a non-profit 501(c)3 charity. For tickets or any of the Anniversary Weekend Celebration events, please visit TheEagleTheatre.com. For more information, please call 609-704-5012.
