The Contemporary Art Group Presents Multi-Media Show at Mayo Performing Arts Center in August

The Contemporary Art Group presents their multi-media show at the Mayo Performing Arts Center Art Upstairs Gallery,August 9, 2016 - September 12, 2016. A Meet the Artist reception will take place on Sunday, August 14, from 4 pm - 6 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.
The Contemporary Art Group (CAG) is a collegial organization of working artists who meet on a regular basis to advance their art interests. CAG is a supportive group where there is mutual respect among members, where members share ideas, provide information about exhibit opportunities, and describe their own artistic development. CAG is a cooperative in the sense that members share the work of running the organization, coordinating the shows, selecting venues for exhibits, transporting artwork, hanging and advertising shows, and hosting receptions. It is an organization that works because individual members work. CAG is an open organization, accepting as members individuals who share its goals and who are willing and able to help carry out its mission. The group meets monthly at Watchung Arts Center. More information is available at contemporaryartgroup.org. The Art Upstairs Gallery is open two hours prior to performances and by appointment. The Art Upstairs Gallery is a gift of the John and Margaret Post Foundation. Mayo Performing Arts Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, presents a wide range of programs that entertain, enrich, and educate the diverse population of the region and enhance the economic vitality of Northern New Jersey. The 2016-2017 season is made possible, in part, by a grant the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as support received from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, F.M. Kirby Foundation and numerous corporations, foundations and individuals. The Mayo Performing Arts Center has been designated a Major Presenting Organization by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Mayo Performing Arts Center has been named 2016 Outstanding Historic Theatre by the League of Historic American Theatres.
