StrangeDog brings The Virilogy to Tierney's Tavern in January
The StrangeDog Theatre Company will return to Tierney's Tavern this January for three weekends of The Virililogy, a new trio of plays by Ben Clawson. The night will span a decade in the lives of three friends; Stu (David Murgittroyd), Brian (Scott Cagney) and Quinn (Michael Stanton Murphy). Together, they face, witness and bear the misfortune, the misunderstanding and the misery which befalls them in their respective significant-otherships. Bushwhacked and crestfallen they somehow mature... or in any case, they get older. Three weekends of three different years in the lives of three different guys told through three different plays: The Virilogy.
The Virilogy is an expansion of Mr. Clawson's previous one-act play, Virilia, which had it's premiere at The Network One Act Festival at the Barrow Group Theater in NYC and was made into a short film. Most recently, StrangeDog Theatre has worked on a touring show, We'll See Tomorrow, which was comissioned by and premiered at the New Jersey Science and Engineering Festival. It then toured to Playwrights Theatre in Madison and Tierney's as well. Three Guys: Stu, Quinn and Brian. Three Plays: Virilia, Virility and Visectomy. Bushwhacked! Crestfallen! Morally Castrated!
