STEEL MAGNOLIAS Opens Friday At Music Mountain Theatre

Steel Magnolias, the hit play written by Robert Harling, opens Friday at Music Mountain Theatre. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic film with a trip to see this classic at MMT!

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, Shelby, who is a diabetic, risks pregnancy and her life. The realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on their underlying strength - and love.

Steel Magnolias stars Molly Logan Chase as M'Lynn, Madison Kotnarowski as Shelby, Jill Palena as Truvy, Lauren Brader as Annelle, Anna Hentz as Clairee, and Joan Hoffman as Ouiser. All of these talented women are veterans of the MMT stage and audience favorites.

Special thanks to MMT Season Sponsor Bangz of New Hope for on-site publicity shots and a gift basket that you could win if you attend!

Performances of Steel Magnolias run February 23-March 3 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $23 for seniors and students and are available online at www.musicmountaintheatre.org or by calling the box office at 609-397-3337.
