Pilot Production of MARY POPPINS JR. Flying to New Jersey This Winter

By: Jan. 04, 2017
Aspire Performing Arts Company is currently in the final weeks of rehearsals for its upcoming pilot production of Mary Poppins Jr.

Aspire PAC has partnered with Music Theatre International (MTI) and iTheatrics and will be one of the first theatre companies to produce Mary Poppins Jr. prior to its official release. The pilot process allows MTI and iTheatrics to fine-tune the script, music, and materials before the rights become available to schools and theatres.

Based on Mary Poppins, the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical that delighted audiences for more than 2,500 performances, Mary Poppins Jr. tells the story of everyone's favorite nanny, who advises that "anything can happen if you let it."

Randi Seffinger serves as Director of Mary Poppins Jr. Lisa Beth Vettoso, Aspire PAC's Artistic Director, will act as Co-Director, Choreographer, and Producer of the project.

"We feel very lucky to be part of this pilot process in partnership with MTI and iTheatrics," says Ms. Vettoso. "We have learned a great deal along the way, and it is exciting to know that our production will inform the ongoing development of Mary Poppins Jr."

Performances will take place Friday, February 3 at 8:00pm and Saturday, February 4 at 3:00pm at Westminster Arts Center, located at 449 Franklin Street in Bloomfield, NJ. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.aspirepac.com or contact Aspire PAC at 201-220-4933 or aspirepac@gmail.com.

Since 2011, Aspire Performing Arts Company has provided children and teens with opportunities to participate in theatrical productions, master classes, and Broadway trips, gaining a strong reputation along the way. For more information, you can find Aspire online at www.aspirepac.com as well as on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Mary Poppins Jr. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. Visit www.MTISHOWS.com for more information.
