Photo Flash: Meet the Cast of Eagle Theatre's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

By:

"Little Shop of Horrors" premieres at the Eagle Theatre on Nov. 1, and co-artistic directors Ed Corsi and Ted Wioncek III hope to introduce audience members to a re-imagined, darker vision of the popular musical. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast below!

"We want this production to break our audience's expectations," said Corsi, who is directing the musical. "Think the version we all know, plus elements of original 1960 film, all set in a place like Tim Burton's Gotham City."

Many people know that the musical revolves around a plant that grows out of control as a hapless gardener feeds it by increasingly questionable means, and that will stay the same. But, do not come expecting Audrey to have bleach blonde hair and Seymour to be the typical nerdy, bumbling wimp.

When asked about their production, Wioncek III said, "This vision of 'Little Shop of Horrors' is visually decrepit and musically zealous. We're paying homage to the author's original intent while creating our own mythical wonderland."

The cast features 10 professional actors, seven from Philadelphia and three from South Jersey. As always, the theatre will have live music with a five-piece pop/rock band accompanying the cast.

"Little Shop of Horrors" will run from Nov. 1 to 23, with performances Nov. 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 10 and 17 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for General Admission and $30 for Front Rows. Tickets can be purchased at www.TheEagleTheatre.com. For more information, please contact the box office at (609) 704-5012.
