Now in its 7th Season, Eagle Theatre opens Louisa May Alcott's classic universal coming of age story, Little Women: The Musical tonight, January 26th, 2018.
The Civil War story that swept the nation is brought to life in a new musical phenomenon. Brimming with adventure and imagination, heartache and hope, Eagle Theatre's epic production is full of joyful melodies, unforgettable characters, and uplifting spirit.
Eagle Theatre Co-Artistic Director, Ted Wioncek III states, "Little Women: The Musical will be our largest production to date. The story is incredibly relevant today because it follows ones search for independence and purpose in the world, two themes that are undeniably timeless."
On May 13th PBS will debut their 3-part adaptation of Alcott's classic. Dozens of live theatrical performances and feature films have tried their hand at the 1869 semi-autobiographical novel. However, Eagle Theatre believes their production truly embodies the spirit and grace of Alcott's literary masterpiece like none other before.
Wioncek concludes, "Alcott was ahead of her time. 149 years since the novels premiere, her words ring out louder than ever, serving as a manifesto to all of those who dare to dream, and demand to be heard. We were given a novel, but she left us with a voice. A voice, phonated by a literary role model that would continue to speak to us across the generations. A voice we would someday hope to call our own. Little Women is indisputably a work of art. However, arts ability to shape society, make waves, effect change, and transcend time... That is what makes it astonishing."

Eagle Theatre, South Jersey's only year-round Professional Equity Theatre, is dedicated to redefining regional theatre. The theatre produces more than 160 live performances each year, including full-scale Broadway caliber World Premieres and re-conceptualized revivals; New Works Development Series play readings; a traveling Theatre for Youth Audiences program, specializing in providing arts education to schools in under served communities; an Annual Fringe Festival, a 3-day street fair and theatrical marathon, featuring multiple eclectic productions, a beer and wine garden, pop-up art, food, live music, and street performers; and Eagle Theatre Conservatory, a year-round tuition based theatrical institute for all ages and levels of professionalism.

This award-winning culturally diverse epicenter boasts state of the art technical equipment, a free double parking lot, Sharrott Winery's on-site Wine Lounge, and is located within walking distance of several boutiques and acclaimed dining destinations in beautifully revitalized Downtown Hammonton, serving patrons from New Jersey, Philadelphia, and beyond.

Eagle Theatre originally opened its doors in 1914 as a silent movie theatre. The theatre was restored in 2009 to serve as a performing arts center. Since the reopening, Eagle Theatre has quickly grown into a nationally recognized non-profit producing organization.
