You a Man Now?
Written and performed by Mo Beasley

Thrill to a spoken word-theatre experience that puts a whole new spin on the urban male coming of age story in NewMillenniumAmerica. Junie grapples with defining himself as a man while navigating his Ma's well intentioned abundance of love and his Uncle Rueben's "No Good Ideologies".

Accompanied on stage by Philadelphia DJ Razor Ramone spinning a sound track that includes Soul, Funk, and Golden Era Hip Hop of the1970sand 80's, Mo Beasley's flips between his cast of characters as fast as the beats. Additional music melds blues, hip hop, gospel, and rock & roll into a seamless family of quintessential all-American music that is composed and performed by the eclectic quartet, Universes.

A country idyll becomes a living nightmare when a well-meaning and misdirected husband propels his spirited wife to the brink of madness in this faithful dramatization of a story written in 1885...a story penned "to freeze your blood!" The Yellow Wallpaper continues to chill today's audience - feminists, historians, mystery- and horror-story enthusiasts alike - with its wit, suspense, and superlative style.

This is Ragtime
Conceived and performed Terry Waldo

Virtuoso ragtime, stride, and blues pianist Terry Waldo is the perfect performer to bring the story of ragtime to the stage! A student and protégée of the late Eubie Blake, Waldo is also a vocalist and performer famous for his dry wit. This Is Ragtime includes tales of the great inventors of this music such as Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Irving Berlin, and Eubie Blake, whose music ushered in the jazz age of the 20's.

On The Way to Timbuktu

Dr. "Slim" Selene Slater-Bernaud, teaches a class scrutinizing Shakespeare's sonnets. After years in a caring interracial marriage, she finds herself in love with a female student. Grappling with personal demons that threaten to destroy her, Slim's past and present collide as she confronts the poetry and politics of her heart, while on a journey through her mind. This beautifully acted drama won the 2008 Audelco award for best Solo Show and was nominated for best direction and original musical composition.

Petronia Paley credits include the Broadway revival of On Golden Pond opposite James Earl Jones and in Death of a Salesmanwith Avery Brooks at Oberlin College. In addition to her numerous leading roles with The Classical Theatre of Harlem, Yale Repertory Theatre and The Shakespeare Theatre of Washington DC, Ms. Paley is also a veteran of daytime television including Guiding Light and Another World. On the Way to Timbuktu is being presented as part of Passage's 7th Annual Solo Flights Festival, which continues through March 29.

Passage Theatre performs in the historic Mill Hill Playhouse an intimate 115-seat theater in the heart of downtown Trenton adjacent to the beautiful Mill Hill district. Security-guarded on-street parking is available on S. Montgomery St., Ernie Kovacs St., E. Front Street and in the Artworks parking lot.
