Neil Berg to Host NJPAC's A NIGHT OF BROADWAY STARS to Support Homeless Youth

By:

On June 7th at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, Covenant House New Jersey will celebrate the lives of the homeless youth the organization has helped off the streets at A Night of Broadway Stars, a unique fundraising event that shines a light on the talent of homeless youth and features performances by some of Broadway's biggest stars.

Covenant House New Jersey will also honor Tim Baxter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Samsung Electronics America, for his tireless efforts to support homeless youth in New Jersey.

"This is going to be a special night when our kids at Covenant House get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with some of Broadway's biggest stars," said Covenant House New Jersey Executive Director Jim White. "Every day formerly homeless young people are courageously working to put the past behind and work towards their dreams in our programs all across New Jersey. A Night of Broadway Stars is an opportunity for our kids to shine, and for us to celebrate their goodness and their promise."

Tim Baxter is being honored for his support of Covenant House New Jersey's programs that provide food, clothing, medical attention, counseling and housing to homeless youth. "Tim is an amazing champion for our kids," said White. "He has slept on the streets for our kids to raise money and awareness. He takes the time to get to know and mentor our kids, inviting them to Samsung to learn about the working world. He has rallied the employees at Samsung to be invaluable partners in our mission. I can't think of a more appropriate person for Covenant House New Jersey to honor than Tim Baxter on such a special night."

"Covenant House has not only been an inspirational partner to Samsung and so many of our employees, but has made a lasting impression on me personally," said Tim Baxter, President and CEO, Samsung Electronics America. "The work the organization is doing to combat homelessness and bring hope to the lives of so many young people is remarkable. I commend them for their unrelenting commitment to being advocates for these youth and thank them for this honor."

A Night of Broadway Stars is hosted by award-winning composer Neil Berg, and features a cast of some of Broadway's biggest stars, including Catherine Brunell (Something Rotten, Mary Poppins) and William Michals (Beauty and the Beast, Chicago.)
