Mary Dimino to Host Northeast Film Festival

The 2016 Northeast Film Festival, one of New Jersey's most prestigious film festivals, will be hosted by award-winning comedian Mary Dimino.

Now in its fourth year, NEFF has hired Mary Dimino as the festival's recurrent host. Dimino writes the material for their awards ceremony, along with hosting the awards gala and red carpet event. This will be her fourth year hosting.

Such guest presenters working with Mary Dimino in past years were Vinnie Pastore (Sopranos), David Harris (The Warriors), Fatima Ptacek (voice of Dora the Explorer), producers from NBC among various others.

Over 22 trophies will be given out by Dimino to filmmakers, actors, writers and producers throughout the United States and internationally, in varies genres. Past years have included both Oscar and Emmy winners and nominees. Several of the festival's chosen films have gone on to become eligible for Oscar consideration.

NEFF host Mary Dimino, is a familiar face on television. She can be seen often as the new spokesperson for Life Reimagined, starring in both the national network and print ad campaigns.

Mary Dimino is MAC Award Winner for Outstanding Female Comedian and Gracie Allen Award winner for her work on PBS. Her one woman show SCARED SKINNY won Best Solo Show in The New York International Fringe Festival. Her book, Scared Skinny No More, published by Sunbury Press, debuted number ten on their Best Seller List. Her latest one woman show, BIG DUMMY, won the United Solo Award for First Sold Out Show of Theatre Row.

Mary Dimino's TV appearances include NBC's Today Show, FOX, PBS, HBO's Chris Rock Show, VH-1's Best Week Ever, Comedy Central's Graham Norton Effect, NY-1, American Movie Classics Movie Moments, sketches on Late Shows with David Letterman and Conan O'Brien, SNL, and numerous national commercials. On stage she has played the Maid of Honor in Tony & Tina's Wedding, Carmella in Surprise, and Vidalia in the off-Broadway hit My Big Gay Italian Funeral at St. Luke's Theater. She is a regular member of the nationally touring stand-up comedy troupe The Italian Chicks.

The Northeast Film Festival, curated by award-winning director Larry Rosen, is scheduled to take place at the historic Teaneck Cinemas in Teaneck, New Jersey, September 9-11, 2016.
