Karen Luschar Brings CHASING RAINBOWS, SONGS OF JUDY GARLAND To Rosen PAC

Karen Luschar brings her acclaimed show, Chasing Rainbows--Songs of Judy Garland to the Rosen Performing Arts Center in Wayne, NJ on Thursday July 19th at 7pm.

A seasoned Broadway and international performer, Luschar captures Judy Garland's heartbreaking vulnerability and spunk in an exciting theatrical concert evening which celebrates this incredible icon and the songs she imprinted on the hearts of millions. With over 35 songs including I Love a Piano, The Trolley Song, A Great Day For the Irish, Swanee, Easter Parade, But Not For Me, and Come Rain or Come Shine, Garland's story and music are seamlessly woven together taking the audience on a journey through the exuberant highs and very difficult lows of Garland's personal life and career. Karen received a Broadway World Award nomination for this show which she also performed at Lincoln Center.

'Chasing Rainbows--Songs of Judy Garland is a concert I have performed around the country for over 15 years', explains Luschar. 'I have never tried to imitate Judy, only to sing with passion, love and deep respect the outstanding music sung by this outstanding performer. I remember my mother taking me as a child to a concert of Garland's. It was magical and the excitement in the air was contagious. I couldn't take my eyes off her. I've never forgotten how she sat on the edge of the stage and talked and sang to the audience just as if we were sitting in her living room. She had a warmth and connection to every person there, yet her persona seemed larger than the huge theatre we were in. Garland has definitely been an influence in my show business life.'

Karen's dynamic three octave range and multiple array of talents have been seen on Broadway, Off-Broadway, at Lincoln Center, in national tours, performing arts venues, Japan, Canada, Las Vegas, cruise ships, conferences and commercials. She has performed in 49 states and a few of her theatre credits include Phantom of the Opera, Brigadoon, Oklahoma, Carousel, Cabaret, West Side Story, Baby, and My Fair Lady. She worked with the legendary Broadway impresario George Abbott on Broadway in a show which garnered international media celebrating his 100th birthday. She also spent three years in Never-Neverland performing with Sandy Duncan in Peter Pan and then three years in Camelot with Richard Harris and later with Robert Goulet.

Chasing Rainbows--Songs of Judy Garland will be performed on Thursday July 19th at 7pm at the Rosen Performing Arts Center, 1 Pike Drive, Wayne, NJ. Tickets are $16 in advance and reservations can be made by calling 973-595-0100.
