Dorothy Marcic, author of the current Off-Broadway musical hits SISTAS, the longest African American musical in New York history, and THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS, is set perform a one-woman piece, adapted from her newest book, tonight at Watchung Booksellers in Montclair, NJ. Her true crime memoir WITH ONE SHOT: FAMILY MURDER AND A SEARCH FOR JUSTICE was released on March 27th by Citadel/Kensington Press and Dorothy kicked off a nationwide book tour last Thursday for an SRO crowd at the Upper West Side Barnes & Noble. As an opening act, she enlisted her cast of THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS, whose performance got the exciting evening off to a rousing start. After tonight's special appearance in NJ, Dorothy will be leaving the local area to take her act on the road as the tour is scheduled to take her cross-country including a stop in Oregon, Wisconsin, where the events in WITH ONE SHOT actually happened.

In WITH ONE SHOT, Dorothy Marcic writes about the crime that has haunted her since she was a teenager. WITH ONE SHOT resulted from the 1970 murder of Dorothy's Uncle Vernie in Wisconsin. Vernie's wife Suzanne confessed to the murder but many of the facts didn't add up. She pled insanity and spent only 11 months in a mental hospital, never spending a day in prison. In this explosive new book, Dorothy hopes to set the record straight and find justice for the murder that's affected her family for decades.

Dr. Dorothy Marcic is a playwright whose productions have played in over 70 U.S. cities. She is an adjunct professor at Columbia University and a former professor at Vanderbilt University. She was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Economics-Prague, has three masters and a doctorate, and is the author of 15 books including the bestsellers UNDERSTANDING MANAGEMENT and RESPECT: WOMEN AND POPULAR MUSIC (the genesis for THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS). Dorothy has appeared on C-SPAN, CMT and Bravo.
