On Saturday May 6 at 8 PM, there won't be a dry eye in the audience at the historic Union County Performing Arts Center, and it's not what you think.

Audiences will be crying laughing at comedian Steve Treviño's commentary on life as a married man, a father and a Mexican-American. With two comedy specials under his belt, Grandpa Joe's Son on Showtime (which made the Nielsen Top 20) and Relatable on Netflix, Treviño has perfected his act and comedic tone and rightfully gained a huge following.

Most recently, Treviño is continuing to promote material from Relatable, the maIn Focus of which is his relationship with his wife. To the delight of his fans, he has dubbed her "Captain Evil," citing her ability to know when he's having fun and appear out of nowhere to stop it. He tackles the subject of their dynamic, as well as the dynamic of marriages in general, using hilarious situational examples that range from taking his wife to Vegas, to hearing about all the money she's saved when she comes home from shopping. The most enjoyable aspect of Treviño's act is the way in which he tells these uniquely "relatable" stories within the context of his own individuality and culture. Before living in Hollywood, Treviño was raised in Texas in a Hispanic household. As such, his comedic voice also takes on a "Tex-Mex" sensibility.

Treviño's accomplishments in the world of comedy include not only his two specials, but also status as a national headliner and appearances on Comics Unleashed, BET Comic View, The Late Late Show and more. Treviño has written and produced for performer Pitbull's La Esquina, a series in which Pitbull and his sidekick discuss social issues with a comedic twist, and for Mind of Mencia, a sketch and parody-based series hosted by comedian Carlos Mencia.

Tickets for Steve Treviño range from $25 to $48 and can be purchased online at ucpac.org, over the phone by calling (732) 499-8226 or in person at the box office. There is also an option for Dinner & Show tickets for this event. These tickets range from $63-$65 and include a pre-show dinner at Patria Latin Bistro (169 W Main St, Rahway, NJ). Box office hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 AM- 5 PM, with extended hours of 11 AM- 8 PM on Thursdays. The Union County Performing Arts Center is located in downtown Rahway at 1601 Irving Street and is easily accessible to major roads and public transportation.
