Butler High School Presents Fall Drama

By:

Butler High School drama club will present a stage adaptation of Agatha Christie's book 'A Murder is Announced'.

An announcement in the local paper states the time and place when a murder is to occur in Miss Blacklock's Victorian house. The victim is not one of the house's several occupants, but an unexpected and unknown visitor. What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death, a determined Inspector grimly following the twists and turns, and Miss Marple on hand to provide the final solution at some risk to herself in a dramatic confrontation just before the final curtain.

Production details: The play is directed by Rich Lovallo. Assistant director Dana Coviello. Costumes and Props by Ruth Mirabella and Dorothy Limey. Sets and technical direction by Dave Tadros. The cast features Butler High School seniors Jessica Hornig, Laura Mirabella, Alex Logan, Chris Heyburn, Anna Latini, Cyan Bourdon and Andrew Bandala.

This play will be the first production in the newly renovated Butler High School auditorium. The cast involves 20 students with several of the roles double-cast. The students met with a professional dialect coach to work on the various types of English and other foreign accents utilized in the play. The plays director, Rich Lovallo, was an actor in this very play when he was in college.

Performance dates are Thursday November 29, Friday November 30 and Saturday December 1 at 7:30 pm and Sunday December 2 at 2:00 pm.
