Black Box PAC Announces SIGNIFICANT OTHER By Joshua Harmon
Black Box PAC's first main stage show of 2019 is Significant Other by Joshua Harmon. BBPAC is no stranger to Harmon's work, as one of the first hits at the Black Box Performing Arts Center was Harmon's hit Bad Jews.
Significant Other - presented in special arrangement with Samuel French - follows the perpetually single Jordan Berman and his trio of girl friends as they navigate dating, relationships, and supporting those you love.
The show ran on Broadway in 2017, beginning performances on February 14 which the production called "Singles Awareness Day." Significant Other is "a tenderly unromantic romantic comedy, as richly funny as it is ultimately heart-stirring" (The New York Times) and "as funny as Joshua Harmon's breakthrough play, Bad Jews, Significant Other makes you slap your knees until they're bruised" (Time Out New York). The Black Box Studios team is excited to share this comedic delight with audiences who may have missed its NYC run.
Alex Hughes stars as Jordan Berman. Hughes is joined by Tevin Barnes, Cassandra Guglielmo, Sean Mannix, and Black Box Repertory Company members Sara Giacomini, Danielle MacMath, and Larissa Terese as Jordan's trio of best friends. The show is directed by Artistic Director Matt Okin.
The Black Box Performing Arts Center (home of Black Box Studios) continues to emerge as the Tri-State area's premiere destination for both cutting-edge professional theater and collaborative performing arts education - in the heart of Teaneck, NJ- just a quick ride over the George Washington Bridge. Black Box was the recipient of the 2017 Teaneck Chamber of Commerce's 2017 Cultural Arts Award, and currently serves on the Chamber Board as the Chair of the Cultural Arts Committee. In addition to main stage productions, Black Box PAC hosts special events including Open Mic Nights, Comedy Nights, and family shows.
Significant Other will run Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm from January 24 to February 10 at The Black Box Performing Arts Center (200 Walraven Drive, Teaneck, NJ 07666).
