BergenPAC Announces Fundraiser for Puerto Rico Rebuilding Efforts

The Bergen Performing Arts Center will be collecting donations at the March 10 El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico concert to help rebuild homes in Puerto Rico from the damages suffered in Hurricane Maria.
"bergenPAC is always proud to present renowned salsa musicians, such as El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico. As their homeland continues recovering after the storm, we are pleased that we can play our part to raise important funds for those efforts," bergenPAC President & CEO Dominic Roncace said.
"Community support is so valuable when faced with adversity like the havoc Hurricane Maria brought on the people of Puerto Rico. As Mayor, I'm always proud to see how generous our community can be when someone is in need and encourage everyone to come out to support this great cause," Englewood Mayor Frank Huttle III said.
A table will be set up in the lobby before the show with representatives from the Bergen County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, who can talk about the long-term recovery program that the Puerto Rico chapter is implementing on the island. The national office of Habitat for Humanity has sent a high-level strategy team to develop the plan, which includes repairs, new construction, vocational training for construction workers, advocacy and legal support for title issues.
One hundred percent of the money raised will be sent to the Puerto Rico chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and bergenPAC encourages everyone to stop by and support this great cause.
El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico is a salsa band based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling bergenPAC's Box Office at (201) 227-1030.
