BIG GAY ITALIAN Trilogy Picked up in Atlantic City!

By:
Anthony J. Wilkinson's Big Gay Italian Trilogy, which have all played at different times Off-Broadway since 2003, has been picked up by Resorts Casino and will play this summer in the 1350 seat Superstar Theater. "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" will play June 30, 2017, "My Big Gay Italian Funeral" will play July 28, 2017, and "My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis" will play September 1, 2017 all at 9pm.

"My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis" which officially opened on December 3rd, 2015, in New York City under Bianco Productions at the Theater Center will close its doors officially on March 25th, 2017 after a seventeen month run Off-Broadway. "Now that all three shows have been established I am excited to see them play in rep, and Atlantic City is the perfect home for the shows this summer," Wilkinson said.

Sonia Blangiardo who is planning to produce the productions with Resorts is a two-time Emmy winner, and four-time nominee, with over twenty years of experience as a Producer/Director/Writer. Sonia is the Creator and Executive Producer of the Emmy nominated Tainted Dreams. Teresa Anne Cicala who is one of the original Producers and Director of "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" at St. Luke's Theater is slated to direct the Wedding Production.

The original production of My Big Gay Italian Wedding started Off-Broadway in 2003 at the Actor's Playhouse and later moved to Theatre Four in the spring of 2004. Wilkinson restaged My Big Gay Italian Wedding in September of 2009 at the St. George Theatre for an audience of almost 2,000 people. After much discussion and huge debates with regards to the topic of gay marriage, its reviews and success prompted an explosive revival on Restaurant Row with a full out Equity cast in April of 2010. In June of 2013 Anthony opened the sequel to My Big Gay Italian Wedding, My Big Gay Italian Funeral. The funeral ran for over two years at St. Luke's Theater in New York City in rep with the wedding till they both closed in the fall of 2015.

Wilkinson will be playing his own role "Anthony Pinnunziato" in all three shows, the role he originated at the Actors Playhouse back in 2003. No other casting has been decided at this time. Open casting will be held in mid March both in New York City and in Philadelphia for all roles.

All three chapters of the Big Gay Italian Trilogy are represented by Samuel French. Aside from New York City, the shows have already played in multiple cities in the US as well as Edinburgh, London, Vancouver, Hong Kong and parts of France.

The Resorts Hotel & Casino is located at 1133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, New Jersey. 08401. Tickets will be available on April 1st for all three shows on ticketmaster.com or by calling 646-220-3912.
