A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS LIVE Opens Thanksgiving Weekend at Patchogue Theatre ImagePatchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to present "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on Sunday, Nov. 27, adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer and based on the Peanuts characters created by Charles M. Schultz.

This live theater rendition of the popular television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson is a time for the whole family to come together and celebrate the holiday season. Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang won't let the hustle and bustle of the holidays get you down as they are here to remind us all about what's most important during the Yuletide season.

This faithful stage adaption of the animated classic is performed on stage by an adult cast.There will be two performances, the first beginning at 11 a.m. and the second presentation beginning at 3 p.m. Patchogue Theatre's production of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is for all ages, but please note that this is an abbreviated show prepared for school-aged children. Tickets for "A Charlie Brown Christmas" are now available online, by phone or at the box office. Ticket prices range from $12 to $20, plus ticket convenience charges. Patchogue Theatre first opened in 1923 as the largest theatre in Suffolk County. It still is, with the installation of 1,106 brand new seats during the 2016 renovation. Saved by Village of Patchogue in 1996 and lovingly restored it to its original grandeur, this beautiful and historic venue was in use 230 days with over 150,000 in attendance for its 2016-2017 season. PTPA is an independent community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that leases the building from the Village of Patchogue and covers all of the operating costs without any subsidies from the Village. PTPA's leadership consists of a volunteer board of directors and a small professional staff. Patchogue Theatre continues to thrive thanks to the hard work of over 90 volunteers as well as the businesses, funding agencies and individuals who support PTPA by contributing their time and resources.
