The Royal Shakespeare Company's current production of William Shakespeare's JULIUS CAESAR, the epic political tragedy, will be presented at Jaffrey's River Street Theatre (RST), a project of The Park Theatre, as part of its RST Stage2Screen Series this Sunday, May 28 plus Monday, May 29.

In the story, Caesar returns from war, all-conquering, but mutiny is rumbling through the corridors of power. The "Our Rome" season of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre opens with the politics of spin and betrayal turning to violence. Following his sell-out productions of Tom Morton-Smith's Oppenheimer (2014) and James Fenton's adaptation of Don Quixote (2016), Season Director Angus Jackson steers the thrilling action as the race to claim the empire spirals out of control. The role of Julius Caesar is played by veteran British stage and film actor Andrew Woodall (The Count of Monte Christo). JULIUS CAESAR was broadcast live to cinemas worldwide on April 26.

JULIUS CAESAR has four showtimes at the RST over the Memorial Day weekend: Sunday, May 28 at 12pm, 3:30pm and 7pm. It will also be shown on Monday, May 29 at 2pm. The production has a total running time of 2 hours and 32 minutes and there is one 20 minute intermission.

Tickets for this Stage2Screen event are $20 each (students and teachers with ID: $15). More program and schedule information as well as ticket purchases can be found at www.theparktheatre.org or by calling the RST Box Office (603) 532-8888. The after hours box office can be reached by calling OvationTix at (866) 811-4111.

The River Street Theatre is located in downtown Jaffrey, New Hampshire at 6 River Street. The River Street Theatre is sponsored by: Grove Street Fiduciary, Coca-Cola, the Board of Trustees of the Park Theatre, Janet S. Grant, Betty Locke, Owen Houghton and the James F. & Fernande Kelly Charitable Trust.
