By: Jul. 16, 2018

Restored LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Movie To Be Screened In Jaffrey ImageThe Park Theatre's River Street Theatre (RST) will screen the original The Little Shop of Horrors film on Saturday, July 21 at 7pm.

This is the one that started it all. From film to smash off-Broadway musical and back to musical film with Rick Moranis and Steve Martin. The original film was released in August of 1960 and co-stars a very young (23) Jack Nicholson. The story is about Seymour (Jonathan Haze), a young man who works in a flower store. He manages to create a carnivorous plant, Audrey Jr., that feeds on human flesh. Nobody knows about it, so Seymour and the plant become good "friends". The plant needs food to grow up, so it convinces him to start killing people.

The Little Shop of Horrors was directed by veteran horror film producer/director Roger Corman. Since the 1950s, Mr. Corman has produced dozens of horror and action films including House of Usher, A Bucket of Blood, The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death, The Dunwich Horror, The Trip, Death Race 2000, and Grand Theft Auto. He continues to produce and will be releasing a new film, Abduction, later this year.

The Little Shop of Horrors is a campy and fun-filled film. It is Certified Fresh by RottenTomatoes.com with a 92% rating. The movie is presented in its restored high definition black and white brilliance.Tickets for The Little Shop of Horrors are $5.00 each.
